This is our suggested top 5 places to pop the question in the Mother City!
1. Llandudno Beach, Llandudno
Llandudno Beach is a stunner from every angle! This beach is one of Cape Town's top beaches and a great place to pop the question. It's quieter on weekday evenings as opposed to weekends, and you can have a stunning view of the sunset while overlooking the ocean.
2. Signal Hill, Cape Town
We love Signal Hill as a proposal spot because it feels like you're picnicking on top of Cape Town.
Locals love taking a drive up Signal Hill on summer day evenings as it's a great spot to watch the sunset while overlooking the entire city's landscape.
Imagine popping the question in full view of Lion's Head, the iconic Table Mountain with the perfect lighting as sunset kicks in?!
3. Cape Point,
Situated at the southwestern tip of Africa, Cape Point is a famous landmark to host your proposal.
It's the point where the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans meet.
If you and your loved one adore nature, this is a great spot for the nature lover!
Disclaimer: it is the windiest point in Cape Town which is important to bear in mind if you'll be hiring a photographer for the moment.
4. Stark-Conde Wines, Stellenbosch
The image below tells you everything you need about why we love Stark-Conde.
It's a hidden gem in Cape Town as it's locked away in the Jonkershoek valley in Stellenbosch. Stark-Conde is a boutique winery, that offers tastings and also has a cute cafe on the premises called Postcard Cafe.
We love this as a proposal location for the wine-lovers because you could start with suggesting a wine-tasting experience with your love, only to invite them on a private walk around the lake, surprising them with a sweet proposal on the deck.
5. West Coast National Park, West Coast
This location is about 88km outside of Cape Town, but trust me... it's worth the drive! From having secret beaches, large stretches of flora, and a dreamy lagoon, the West Coast Park is a great proposal destination. You could conceal the proposal by suggesting to take a drive with your love to watch the sunset, as you have great views of the sunset throughout the park.
In 2024, the park will charge an entrance fee of R116 p/person to help cover the conservation fees.
We, however, love the national park because it's filled with countless photo-worthy spots to capture the proposal from any angle.
