A surprise restaurant proposal in Cape Town | Mertia, Stellenbosch

It was in this enchanting setting that David decided to ask the love of his life, Carlyn, to marry him, choosing the elegant Mertia Restaurant as the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable moment.

David had meticulously planned every detail of the day. He selected Mertia Restaurant for its romantic ambience and its renowned culinary delights. David worked closely with the restaurant's staff and me to ensure everything was perfect, from the menu to the timing of the proposal. He told Carlyn that they would be having a day date at the restaurant to try their 8-course tasting experience.

As the day unfolded, Carlyn was enchanted by the warm, inviting atmosphere of Mertia. I arrived during their last course, and at the time of my arrival, all of the other restaurant guests had left, only leaving the couple... To hide the fact that I was booked by David, the restaurant's staff helped me to stage a "content creation" area nearby to make it seem like I was booked by the restaurant.

We kept peeking over to see when David would make the move to go down on one knee...

After about 10 minutes after my arrival, David stood up, his heart racing, and took Carlyn's hand. He knelt on one knee and presented a sparkling ring made by Cape Diamonds. He expressed his love and admiration for Carlyn, sharing his dreams for their future together.

Tears of joy filled Carlyn's eyes as she said "yes," and the restaurant erupted in applause. The couple embraced, sealing the moment with a kiss. The day ended with a toast to their future and promises of a lifetime of happiness.
