There’s something undeniably magical about proposals, especially when they take place in a stunning location like Cape Town. Recently, I had the privilege of capturing a heartfelt proposal on top of one of the city's breathtaking overlooks, with the iconic 12 Apostles mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean serving as the perfect backdrop.
Cape Town offers a range of picturesque spots, but this particular location stood out for its panoramic views and the serene ambiance it provided. As the golden sunset hour approached, it created a soft, romantic light that was perfect for this special moment. The warmth of the setting sun added a golden glow to the couple, Connor and Sian, highlighting their emotions and creating an ethereal atmosphere.
Let me tell you how it all went down:
Connor reached out to me to let me know that he was planning to pop the question and wanted me to secretively capture the moment. He told Sian that they would be taking a drive to watch the sunset at a popular spot in Cape Town known as "The Rock". It's popular for it's view of the 12 Apostles mountain range and Atlantic Ocean.
As they reached the top of the overlook, you could feel Connor's anticipation building. Overlooking the ocean below them and the mountains towering in the background, it was the ideal setting for a proposal. The groom-to-be got down on one knee, and you could see the surprise and joy in Sian's eyes as she realized what was happening. The emotion in the air was palpable, and I was honored to capture each second of it.
